I know I know...
What can I say, I've been busy!
The Winter's Tale went great. Lots of fun, nice people, mostly glad it's over. I LOVED doing it, but I'm not a huge fan of Shakespeare as a staged read. I'd do it again though. Hey, it's ALWAYS fun, right?
The pilot went great. Lots of fun, nice people, SAD it's over! These are definitely people I'd like to get to know better. I'm glad I got to know them as well as I did, but seriously, these are the types of experiences that make people start their own production companies. I find myself wondering how so-and-so's new agent is working out, how so-and-so's date will go tomorrow, etc. OH OH OH - and WHERE ELSE but in the Los Angeles film industry do you meet cool chicks wearing HOOKER, OK T-shirts??? From a SHOOT she did there! I know, no one reading this except my mother knows how bizarre a coincidence that is... Hooker, Oklahoma is like 20 miles from where my grandparents lived in the middle of ABSOLUTE NOWHERE - there's like FIVE people outside my family who've ever been to that town, I swear it.
The sketch show at Second City went great too. Lots of fun, nice people, sad it's over but glad to have a break from it too. The saddest part for me was finishing up my song for the last time - which was interesting considering how terrified I was to do it in the first place.
Which brings me to my main point of the blog today - I'm so insanely grateful for my friends old and new. This hasn't been the easiest of years, but thank god for that in a way - I don't know that I would've reconnected with a couple of them otherwise, been reassured of my best friend's friendship despite changing circumstances, or been brave enough (ahhh, necessity...) to risk forming new friendships up here. And there are so many things I've gotten to do that I have LOVED LOVED LOVED doing over the past 6 months that I would never have done if it wasn't for a friend trusting me or pushing me or remembering I was around. SO. I'm bummed that some wonderful experiences are over, but there are new ones I'm starting too. It's all about the love, yeah?
