Fishing and coupons and...
Okay, so first off, I have to say - changing mouse pads without making sure the new one works worth a damn is a big mistake. Gr. My mouse just doesn't work - the cursor doesn't move, half my button presses don't work, the computer THINKS I'm clicking when I'm not... all kinds of bad. If I use, say, my HAND as a mousepad, these problems go away. Sigh.
Anyway - I went fishing again today, which is not much of a surprise. There are so many little lakes around San Diego, in the middle of this desert - crazy. I never would've suspected. Anyway, caught a few little ones, let 'em go, had a lot of fun watching the birds, etc. It's nice being outside. Oh, and for the record - Santee Lakes is a super place for families. Very pretty, lots of trees, paved paths, a store that sells ice cream, etc. I didn't even get any more sunburnt, which is good. In the past two weeks I've gone from very, VERY pale to super-tan. You people who actually DO tan, ignore that last statement, I probably still look pale to you, but to me I've changed parentage. I keep staring at my hands because they don't look like mine.
Decided to go to the grocery store on the way home, 'cause you're supposed to do that every few months, I'm told. Anyway, the woman in front of me checking out was the Crazy Coupon Lady... a very NICE and somewhat normal crazy coupon lady, but still. She had absolutely packed every square inch of her cart and mounded more food on top (I seriously wondered at first if she was feeding a small school group for a week) and had - get this - her own FILING CABINET OF COUPONS with her. Seriously. She had a tote bag in which she had one of those Sterlite plastic drawer systems... really hard-core. She used about 20-30 coupons on her cart of food - and paid a whopping $67 for the whole thing. She saved like 78% - her original total was over $220. I was so impressed. I've tried the coupon thing before and decided it was way more trouble than it was worth, but that was really an impressive feat - I mean, you can do a lot with the $160 she saved, right? So I mention how surprised I am to the bagger, who tells me his friend BUYS COUPONS ON EBAY. Evidently someone has made a home business clipping and reselling coupons. Genius. Crazy genius, but genius.
In other news, my friend who'd pretty much given up on acting now has an audition for a Church of Scientology industrial tomorrow - think really good thoughts for her, eh, people? And not just for her audition....
