Too much fun!
So we went to Vegas this past weekend, which was just fascinating. Shoe shopping, fishing pole shopping, a great BBQ restaurant, and lots of parties involving large amounts of alcohol and work people, which is an interesting combination.
Got back Saturday, Sunday was my first Level 4 class and show. I've got the fabulous Marc Warzecha again as our teacher and that's just fabulous by me - he drills us on our basics which really really helps me. Of course, we also had our first show and I STILL flubbed the first scene big time, but still. I sang later, what more do you people want from me???
We had three hours in between our class and our show, which allowed us to get to know our classmates a little better, and it was quite fun chatting and throwing around sketch ideas. Levels 4 and 5 of my improv class are where we start building a Second City sketch show, so we're actually writing now rather than just doing improv... quite the change. We watched some video of some mainstage sketches and good god, they were good. We have a lot to learn, but we have a class full of VERY talented people.
Today I'm sick - guess I wore myself out in Vegas a bit much, had a sore throat all day yesterday, blech. Just a little cold, nothing that could keep me from, say, going out and buying another fishing pole and going fishing. Got skunked though. Not even a nibble. So I went out and bought fish tacos for dinner.
Oh well, it was a beautiful place to spend an evening.
This week: well, I'm not sure what this week will be like. A good friend of mine is in town from France (hooray!) so I'm sure we'll go out, I've got Musical Improv on Thursday, which I'm REALLY looking forward to... I ended up singing in TWO scenes during our show this past weekend, although I'm nervous because we actually have a SHOW at the end of the musical class, which means I really WILL have to sing in front of people - I seem to be better at it if I don't know it in advance... I MAY have something Friday, though it may be next Friday if I'm still feeling stuffy and sick... we'll see... it's super-cool and not bloggable, which is rotten. I really wanted to talk about all my acting stuff in my blog, no matter what - well, you just can't do that. Bah.
