Please, sir...
I want some more!!!!
So Wednesday we opened our short play, The Pygmalion Project (written by the FABULOUS George Soete) for the AASD Festival here in San Diego.
Good LORD was that fun! SO much fun. I haven't been on stage with scripted lines in a couple years, and I forgot what a rush it is. Actually, there's all these people who say, "Live theatre is so unique due to the rapport one develops with the audience blah blah blah..." - so I've always laughed at those people. But I get it. I do. It just took a little remembering.
We had another show tonight with a completely different audience, a completely different experience, etc - and it was also completely wonderful. And everything SURROUNDING the show has been great too - catching up with old theatre friends, making new ones, etc - really just a good time. I'm a little nervous/curious to see what the reviewers say, etc. but I hope they enjoyed themselves because we sure did, and it would be really strange if they had a completely different experience of the night than we did! ![]()
So yes, please, I'll take another helping of that.
Oh wow, hey - I just noticed it's Friday the 13th. I'm not sure how it got to be 11:57pm before I noticed that little fact, but neato.
In other news, we went to The Comedy Palace on Thursday with friends - lots of fun. Stand-up comedy is good, but good god those are brave people. Really. Brave. I liked the chick.
Sunday I'll be taking a make-up improv class (which is not about applying make-up or anything, it's just a class to make up for one missed... obviously. Just checking) followed by a trip to the Geffen to see Fat Pig. SO excited. Even if they didn't cast me.
Love the play, can't wait to see it!
Monday's an audition, followed by class... Tuesday's a trip to the AASD Festival to see some of the other shows.... Wednesday is... well, heck, I don't remember Wednesday. Anyway, it's a busy month and it looks like it's going to only get busier. Hooray!
I signed up for Conservatory Level 4 at Second City today - as well as... drumroll please... Musical Improv! I'm terrified and SO EXCITED! ![]()
