Weirdness.

So my mother, who faked sick to get out of her 8th grade chorus performance, might just be a natural actor.  Of course she can't stand the idea of acting in front of people or auditioning or anything, she gets nervous when I'M on stage, but she's been reading sides with me in preparation for an audition tomorrow and she's pretty darn good.  Very natural, reads it just as she'd say it if she was saying those things, etc... it's bizarre.  Fran says, "Start from where you are..." and this woman doesn't know how to do any differently, it's impressive.

So anyway, I'm trying not to get intimidated by my mom's talent and just focus on doing my job.  Auditioning is fun.  I'm trying to focus on that too.  Big auditions (which this is, really) can get me a little anxious ahead of time, so I've been working on it in small doses mixed with Christmas planning/shopping, eating cookies (my fabulous great-aunt sent her amazing italian wedding cookies (Welsh war bride married an Italian man and learned to COOK like a demon!)) and playing Taiko DrumMaster, which is the best game EVER.

My mom's not a natural at that, thank god.  But it's fabulous stress relief - when I can play it.  She might not find it comes easily, but she's pretty addicted.

My husband is cooking Hot Beef Dip (YAY!), so this should be a nice little evening, really.  And by tomorrow evening I'll be sane again.  For a little while anyway.
