Well, that was fun!

So this has been a pretty busy weekend!  I had an audition on Saturday that went - well, not well.  I haven't had the "resume chit-chat" before my audition in a long time, and I couldn't remember anyone's names - like the first name of director X who I'd already confused with director Y, and whose producer's name I couldn't quite remember but came up with "Jackie Briskey", which is just SO NOT RIGHT IT'S NOT FUNNY - as she's a soap CD... then I confused schools and forgot all geographic details of where I live, so I looked like both a liar AND a moron.  Not my best day.  I think my actual audition was alright though - and guys for whom I auditioned - if you're reading this, seriously - that was a BAD DAY.  So sorry!   I did do a couple dropoffs in Burbank and see some gorgeous horses I can't have/ride and find some houses I can't afford, then get in a lovely fight with my husband about said houses, so you know - it was just one of those days.

Sunday was completely different, thank god!  I took Scott Sedita's one-day comedy intensive workshop, which was FABULOUS.  Evidently I can be funny - who knew?  It was a lot of fun, learned a lot, stuff I just never knew at all, so that was great.  The class came with Scott's book, which I can't wait to read.   Really a good use of my time.   After that I dropped into Second City to see a student show, which was good, and then I met my friend Lionel (who was in town from France, so that's quite the unusual occurrence) and his friend Phillipe for drinks at the Four Seasons.  Now, this is not my usual haunt, so I'm pleased that I had at least SOME style and makeup going on, even if it was NOT up to the standards of their usual clientelle, but what a lovely place to sit and chat for a while!  And I had an $18 drink, which is shocking if you're a small-town girl like me, but my oh my it was lovely!  I had a pomegranate mojito, which was very sweet and yummy and much much better than previous attempts at mojitos I have sampled - they do mix a nice drink at the Four Seasons, and serve it with a little thingy of snacks (mmmmm, wasabi peanuts!).  So that was great, then we went to the grocery store, bought some sushi (it's a VERY NICE grocery store.  It's like a Disneyland of food.) and went to Phillipe's for dinner with his lovely wife and had a nice chat.   Really, REALLY a nice evening, and this coming from someone who doesn't go out and socialize and isn't huge on meeting new people, so there ya go.

We SO need to move to LA.  That was one hell of a grocery store.

So today's plan:  take the car to the mechanic for an oil change and checkup (where is my oil going, damnit!?!?), mail some headshots, make a budgety thingy, reschedule my pre-op appointment, take care of the pets, shower, clean, goof off, etc.  Oh crap, I have acting class tonight too - oh boy.  I gotta get my butt in gear....

Maybe I need to get SAG-eligible too - well, not today.  That doesn't need to be on today's list.
