Okay, so obviously I've done SOMETHING this week, I haven't been in a coma or anything.  Class on Monday, helped Bonnie on Wednesday, class on Wednesday, helped my agents on Thursday, car to mechanic on Friday and bought lots of junk.   That's about it!  Lots of driving.  My mechanic was horrified.  

Let me just say that assisting at an agent's office is FASCINATING.  Got to do lots of neat stuff.  Funniest thing - calling actors in who'd submitted headshots/resumes to the office for an open call.  It's like POOF, begin ass-kissing now.  And I'm just an actor helping out for the day - but boy howdy do some actors turn on the schmooze charm.  And I find it funny 'cause I know I've done it too, and it sure beats the surly ones who don't know who you are (you DID address the envelope, right?)... but it's still funny.  I almost wanted to tell some people, "hey, I'm just helping out today, save it for the agent" but.

I had a good time, was glad to get to know the assistants at the office better, they're nice gals.   If you're an actor and you don't have headshots at your agent's office, what the hell is wrong with you?   Seriously.  I saw a lot of people not get submitted on some really great roles 'cause their headshots weren't there.  And if you're not sure if your agent has ALL your headshot looks - GO CHECK.  And if you're not sure if all your looks have a resume stapled to them - GO CHECK.  I was seriously amazed.  And shocked.  And disappointed.  And pissed!  If ever I'm an agent - I'm gonna drop clients right and left for that sort of thing.  Sure, I'll notify you you're out or low - but if you don't fix it, you're toast.  Seriously.  Toast. 

There are some things that made me go "hmmm" in a different, more personal way, but I'm going to have to save those for now.   I gotta think.  Thinking's hard.

Oh, I did buy a DVD reader/writer for my computer - gonna start playing with my footage, see what I got.  I'm pretty sure it's not quite demo reel time, but I need to get everything in one place so I can know for sure - and maybe it's time for "some online footage" or something...   Something small.  Something... non-committal.
