Exciting morning...
So at 9am someone knocks on my door. I figure it's the Jehovah's Witnesses again, they've been coming by this spring/summer every couple months. But no, it's my lovely neighbor asking if I've seen her roommate, who was apparently missing.
Okay, so it's Saturday morning, and my first thought was "she just went to someone else's house to crash last night" - but no, her keys were in the lock of their door and her purse and SHOES were on the doorstep.
Scary. So the police were there looking around and talking to people, and I got up and got dressed and took the dog out. Lots of police, lots of cars. I hear them say they've checked the construction site and so are going to check the other buildings.
Shortly thereafter I hear two female voices outside - I look out, and sure enough, there's the missing neighbor, who'd come home too smashed to get the lock to work (it's been sticking) and so went to a friend's house down the street "just for a few minutes", but ended up sleeping there.
Which is all good, considering the alternative, but scary. Her roommate told her her hangover is completely deserved.
I would have to agree.
In other news, I walked to 7-11 for milk and junk breakfast food today. Those of you who know where I live may think that's not much of an accomplishment, but that hill is STEEP, okay?!?!?
