Phew!

Okay, so yesterday was one busy day!  I drove up to Santa Monica to help Bonnie sort through headshots and postcards - lots of fun. :)  Really, it WAS lots of fun, she's just very nice and she has cats.  I saw the infamous "What were you thinking?" file, which was somewhat frightening, actually. :)

But on the way up there, I got a call to come in and meet with an agency I'd submitted my headshots to - yay! :)  So after I get finished in Santa Monica I go buy some makeup and earrings (because of course, I had none - thank god I had a headshot or two with me!) and trot over to Culver City for my meeting.  I get there at about 5:30 (they asked me to come between 5 and 7) and there's about, oh, 15 people waiting, including several moms with kids.  They ask me if I'm there for the open call or to see Robin.  Evidently Robin's the agent meeting with the kids, and evidently I look as mom-like as actor-like, which is interesting in that "I'm not sure I like that" sort of way.  Anyway, I guess they called in a whole bunch of us to see all at once, which probably makes sense from their point of view but I wanted to be special. ;)  I probably was though, they probably got a lot more submissions than they called in, so.  Anyhow, I met with Michael, who was very nice though I didn't get the vibe that he adored me, sigh.  The second part of the dealio was being put on tape (general chatty interview and a cold read of a commercial) and that went well - Ed (the camera guy) and I hit it off great. :)  His words:  "How cute are you on camera?"  You gotta like that.

Anyway, I get out of there at like 6:40 and I'm supposed to be in Hollywood at 7:00 for my first improv class.  I finally get there at 7:30 (paying $10 for parking) and feel like a total schmuck, but the instructor's cool, I jump on in, the other students are a huge range from geek to party girl but all very nice.  We'll have to see how class goes once we get on into it a bit, but a couple of the games/exercises we did sort of as a warmup/intro were incredibly freakin' fun.  INCREDIBLY.  There's one that I want to do again... daily... it was just such an exercise in frantic concentration - my cheeks hurt from laughing.  That's a good thing.

So anyway, I slog home (stopping for Rally's on the way, 'cause I didn't have time for dinner before class), write a thank-you note to Michael, and crash.

This morning I have an email from a director asking for my headshot and resume - she was given my name by a CD I auditioned for
