Crazy day!
So I went up to LA for my audition today, which went great except I was having enough fun that I was sorry when it ended. :) Dropped by Samuel French, picked up a play for class, a book I just plain wanted, looked for a play for a friend (didn't have it), etc. On the way home I get a call from an unfamiliar number, so I drop my friend (to whom I was chatting at the time) and answer it. It's a producer from the company for which I did an infomercial last year - calling to offer me a spot in a new infomercial they're producing.
Yes, I am officially the infomercial queen-in-waiting - I've decided you have to do three before you can call yourself the infomercial queen.
So that merited a quick call to my agent, which was fine, they called me back, yadda yadda. :)
But then I get home, right, which is pretty normal except that I had MAIL, which by this time is becoming distinctly ABnormal. And the mail I had? The DVD of a student film I did eons ago that I've been trying to get for months. First copy went missing in the mail, second copy ACTUALLY GOT TO ME. I watched it and I have good moments and terrible moments - and it's so hard to see yourself on camera, but it was fun to see everyone again - it's weird because some shots are edited so that they're completely different from how you remember them, and some are so almost exactly from your point of view that you remember it vividly as you're watching it, which is a pretty trippy experience, really.
Anyway, I am SO happy that the producer sent me the DVD and that I actually got it and I'm so happy that a production company called ME to offer me work (and money AND a cooking appliance, woo hoo!) and I'm so happy when I get to audition and yup, it's starting... I'm waiting for the phone to ring. Better go self-submit some more and get my mind off of it. :)
